I teach yoga as a nutritive arm supporting anyone engaged in transformative work. Broadly conceived, this work could be a commitment to self-development, environmental restoration, social relations, spiritual growth, or any other intention calling one toward presence.
Because yoga’s gifts—including touch, concentration, movement, attention, breath—are radically participatory, always simultaneously a discovery and a creation, they are refined vehicles for developing sensitivity to and direct experience of life-force. Called by many names, life-force is a subtle yet palpable animating vitality that permeates earthly, cosmic and spiritual life. Working within this generative intersection awakens first our own body’s wide-ranging modalities of perception and awareness. Over time, such a practice guides us each uniquely toward a clarified experience of ourselves as a co-creative companion, be our focus in the social, physical or spiritual realm.
I bring 15 years of professional experience designing and leading asana, meditation, and pranayam classes of all sizes and skill levels. Pulsing behind this is over 25 years of academic teaching and work as a practicing and teaching artist. I am Yoga Alliance certified E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500. My training is rooted in Lisa Clark’s EmbodiYoga, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen’s Body-Mind Centering, Jaap van der Wal’s embryology, and the western esoteric traditions.
